Default minkee fabric for backing pieced cotton quilt

My son-in-law loves soft, fuzzy, warm so as I begin his quilt it occurred to
me the feeling of minkee would appeal to him. Anyone out there done it?
The quilt will measure about 64x80 as he is tall and front will be homespun
plaids. I wondered about stretching problems. Thanks - DKL in the midwest

There have been a lot of posts about this, so you might want to try
searching "minkee" within the group. I did a simple baby blanket
recently with minkee on the back (the front wasn't even pieced though).
the parents liked the feel of the minkee so much they've requested an
adult size one.

I did a flying geese quilt with minkee backing (no batting). It quilted
beautifully by machine.

I'm still piecing mine, but will post as to how the result turns out
(blocks are a built, we have to decide how to assemble them, then put
'em together, yadda yadda...it's a baby quilt for a little one due to
arrive around Labour day.)

I think I will go with the "no batting" advise, and try just birthing
the quilt before quilting , as was described to me.

More when I get to it .. (this career and social life business has got
to go....)
