preserve buckeye nut
I would like to preserve buckeye nuts for crafts. I assume I would
have to treat the buckeye so it wont eventually fall apart. I was wondering if anyone could make some suggestions as to any chemicals or processes I could use. Thanks in advance! Todd W. |

When I have preserved buckeyes all I did was put them in a oven at 200 degrees
for a few hours to kill any creepy crawlies in them. I cooled them and then you can spray them with clear acrylic spray to keep them shiny. They will last for years. Oleta |

Hi Todd
I don't think you have to do anything to them. I was given one 4 years ago and have carried it in my pocket ever since. Despite the coins, keys and other paraphernalia I carry in my pockets, it still looks like the day I got it. TTUL Gary |
