Default Baby/childs hat pattern?

earlier this year, I found a pattern online for baby/childs hat Knitted in
k2, p2 pattern - remember it had 66 stitches on #6 needles (I only remember
that cause that's the amount on my retirement checks this year! LOL) but
now can't find it in my notebooks..I figured that I should knit it about 5
or 6 inches long (depending on for baby or child) since it can be folded up
for brim but can't seem to figure out how to do the decreases at the top so
that it still is in k2,p2 ribbing..or is this possible? or any other
patterns would be good. I'm trying to get some hats and other items made
for my local hospital and this pattern was easy to do and not have to think
about it until the decreases! need to make room for new stash (yarn as
well as other craft stash)

I'm doing an adult hat in similar vein at the moment, and that just has a
k2tog, p2tog row right at the top, and then pull yarn through.

Does that help?
