Default question about mixing fabrics

(I just posted this over on the sewing group but I know there are a lot
of sewists here that I don't see over there so thought I would try both.)

I'm making some winter pjs for 4 of my DGDs and one has requested that I
make her a raglan top using flannel as the front and back and knit for
the sleeves. This seems like a great way to stretch my fabric and I love
the raglan top pjs I've made in the smaller sizes but that pattern only
goes up to a size 6 and I need a size 10 or 12. Will I need to make any
special adjustments when I mix the two fabric types?
The pattern I have is Simplicity 5874, very simple with a ribbed neckline.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

TIA,

Judie

I don't see where there would be a problem. You are pre-shrinking the
flannel, aren't you? I would also do a bit of a preshrink on the
knit. As long as the fabrics need the same care it should be fine.

Have fun,

Pati,

Yes, I pre wash everything, and with flannel I usually wash it more than
once with hot water. Especially since most of my sewing is done for
children.

Thanks,

Judie
