Snowed in!!
I saw your snow on the news last night. Quite impressive!!! And then we
hear that it is our turn next!! (Montreal being a little east of you folks). And so it was no surprise when the storm made it to town this morning....so far the roads are still working. And even if not I live close to the metro (subway) so I have no excuses for not getting to work ....too bad, I have lots of quilting that is begging to be done G. Allison IMS wrote: Snowed in!! There's a snow emergency here in central New York! Everything is closed, inc. my workplace which has only closed for 3 times in the 25 years I've worked there! We got over a foot of snow overnight and the weather service predicts upwards of 30" by the time this baby is done, with up to 3" of snow falling per hour today. Winds are predicted to get to 15 to 20 MPH with gusts up to 35 MPH! We've bot over a foot of snow in the driveway. The road looks like it was plowed but it's hard to tell LOL We have power, a backup generator, three tons of wood pellets (for heat), candles, batteries, food, etc. so we're all set. To keep this on topic, I'll be spending the day sewing and quiltign! Yippee!! -Irene (in cold, snowy, and white central NY) |
