Natural Gas/Air Torch a good choice?

Hi there!

My wife and I are setting up a small jewelry shop in her new art
studio. We've had the plumber install a NG connection to enable us to
hook up a torch.

I did a lot of jewelry in High School, and we always used NG and a
compressor hooked up to regular air. Is this still a good choice for
general purpose fabrication and annealing of sterling and brass?
Rings, pendants, maybe a bracelet here and there. Probably no casting.
That was 25 years ago, and I'm assuming technology may have moved on.

Any recommendations for brands, etc. as well as exactly what we would
need to hook this up would be greatly appreciated. Absolute beginner
level, as far as torch knowledge goes, so don't be afraid to talk
down...

I have a little Bernzomatic jobbie that has a hose and fitting for
propane and another w/a little regulator thing that says it's for
oxygen. It's like a bicycle grip w/an 8" tube/detachable tip. The size
is perfect. Could this be adapted?
