Default batting with dark spots

I use a lot of Hobbs Heirloom Premium, which is 80% unbleached cotton.
Opened a queen-size batt last month and found (horror!) large areas with
dark spots. It was OK, since I only needed a large-twin piece, but I was
annoyed because of the difficulty in getting affordable cotton batting here
in Germany.

So I wrote to Hobbs, enclosing a sample of the dark area and the plastic
bag. Got a nice letter back to thank me for taking the trouble, and they
said it had happened a few times before. So if it has happened to you, send
the affected bag to Hobbs to help them track the culprit. Might be a bad
machine, might be a bad cotton supplier.

Happier news: Had a friend visiting last week, a very good and kind friend.
She brought me a Whole Roll of Hobbs! 30 yards!! It's the size of a
10-year-old and brought her some odd looks in the airport :-)
