I'm trying to set the machine up for 2 x 2 rib, and can follow the instructions until "slide the carriages across the bed and check there are no jams". They always jam about 2" in from the right. What am I doing wrong? Check the sponge bar on the main bed Hmm... it seems ok, I guess I could swap in another one I've got. Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a go! OK, I replaced the sponge bar with a newer one, and still no joy. I got a cut finger for my trouble, too! It definitely seems to be the main carriage that is causing the problem |

It definitely seems to be the main carriage that is causing the problem Go to http://www.burgoyne.demon.co.uk/950_car.jpg and there is a picture of the underside of a carriage from a Brother 950. Make sure that the 2 little levers indicated by the arrows are spring loaded to the position they are shown here. (all Brother carriages are the same in this respect). The spring loop may have come off the little peg underneath. -- David Toft |
