Default OT - newsreader needed

I just switched my internet service to a wireless internet provider only to
find out that they don't provide newsreader service. So, I downloaded
Forte-Agent thinking I could use that. Well! It wants the info about my
new internet provider and then tells me that it doesn't work (in their own
terminology, of course).

Are there any newsreaders other than google (which is a pain to use all the
time) that you can use on the internet that doesn't require your ISP to
provide that service?

I hope I'm making sense - I just never thought of asking them about
newsgroups - mistakenly assumed that "everybody" provides that nowadays.
That's what I get for doing my own thinking, I guess.

I love the speed of the wireless internet, but sure DO NOT want to give up
my newsgroup access.

I use Netscape. No problem.

Are you sure your ISP doesn't have a server for usenet? ASk them first.

If not, I used to use Supernews, but that's defunct. Others will likely
help you better.

I use this. http://news.individual.net/ it may take a day or two before
they get you your password. I like the service and it's free.

I just checked out the Forte-agent newsgroup & someone there posted - he
uses individual.net with Forte. So, guess that's what I'll do. It's a
pain! I've been able to use my ISP and outlook express ever since I've been
on the internet.

I use individual.net with OE. Many ISPs are dropping usenet because of the
added costs.

Jeanne - I agree! But, with everyone's help, I will get this figured out!
I will NOT do without my newsgroup fix every day. I may not post every day,
but I sure read every day!

Do you need a news reader or a news server? My ISP provides the server
access and I use Netscape for a news reader.
