Default Pix: Finished small quilt!

Hi gang,
Just finished a small wall hanging (28x36in) "Cameroon Beauties", a
gift for a neighbour's 60th birthday. He and his wife want to travel
to Africa. The birthday party will be themed on Africa.
It was a fun quilt to make using a central panel and deciding on an
overall design to add life and sparkle to it.

Beautiful!

And the borders are just perfect for the panel . . . . . .
which I just love. Wherever did you find it?

I am sure they will be thrilled.

That's wonderful Bronnie! I've seen that panel and have wondered what could
be done with it. You figured it out! I really like it.
Your neighbor will be thrilled.

Hi Cheryl! Patchwork Dreaming LQS (Tweed Heads NSW) had a trade table
at our guild meeting a couple of weeks back. There were quite a few
different fabrics in the same 'family'.
This piece has the 'dancers' along half of the fabric and the stripey
part was joined to it and went to the other selvedge. So I purchased 3
repeats. It wasn't even a metre so it only cost me $13 or so! I first
of all cut off the stripey part at the smalll blue wavey line above the
'dancers'. Then I foundation pieced on paper the triangles border and
attached it around the panel. The stripey fabric was then divided
exactly into five strips which determined the width of my border. This
way, I did not have a single wasted centimetre of fabric! (which I
thought was very clever of me LOL).
Glad you liked it.

Wow, Bronnie! Talk about atmospheric. That even *looks* hot.
I really love the way all those green and blue, wavy elements have been
brought together. That is wonderful.
