Default Sold a Cross-stitch

I can't believe it. I have just found out that I sold the Angel
cross-stitch that I have on my site. Now to make another one for me.
A girl at work liked it so much she is buying it to give to a friend
that has been fighting cancer.

The girl at work has also looked at my sight and may be ordering more
stuff so am pretty happy about it all. I think I may be busy for a
while working on projects but that's OK because more money to buy more
stash.

do - I have run out of friends to give them to now !!! Bye God Bless

Darlene,

No wonder it was sold, you do such beautiful work. Gwen, I know what you mean,
I have two done that I haven't framed as I've run out of wall space to hang
them. Now, I'm going to start planning on doing one for DH after my cataract
surgery in Oct. I should be able to see the symbols much better then. LOL

Hugs,

Nora

Nora - best of good wishes for the eye surgery - I had both eyes done back
in 1995 and it is absolutely fabulous - I can not remember being able to see
this well for any period in my entire life. I had given up embroidery as
there was no way I could keep on the lines and so I started cross stitch
because I could literally "feel" the holes in say 12 count but now I love
doing at least 18 and more often 22 count and never a moments difficulty.
The cross stitch of Ann Hathaway's cottage I did on 18 count and everyone
who comes in admires the "painting" on the opposite wall. So every day I
am more and more amazed at the delight in having such good vision - and you
will find that colours change too. When I arrived home from the hospital
on the day I had the first eye done the was a football match on TX between
our state and NSW and I remarked to DH that I noticed that the NSW team had
new jerseys !!!! To which he replied they always had blue jerseys

They were a lovely bright blue whereas before they were a grey/blue. Love
and God Bless Gwen

Gwen,

I can't wait for October to get here. I know that I'll be able to see better
with the right eye. That is one reason I've given my cross stitch a rest as
it's hard to see the chart and colors that clear. Thanks for the encouragment.

Hugs,

Nora

My DF had cataract surgery two years ago this fall and is now with out
eyeglasses at all for the first time in 50 years!!!!!! He had worn glasses
since he was 10 years old, but there is corrective surgery they can do ONLY
when doing cataract surgery so he has been 2 years without glasses now.

There is one down-side though. DM has been saying he looks sickly and
older. He slipped on a pair of her reading glasses the other day, and then
she realized THAT'S what "wasn't right" about him. They've been married 40
years and she STILL isn't used to him without his glasses!!!

My DD#1 came in to their house after he'd had the surgery, took one look at
him and said, "Poppie, where are your glasses?!" He replied, "You know, I
have no idea!"

Molvik Family _ I really know what you mean - I do not need glasses since
the cataract surgery and had worn glasses since i was 11 years of age.
Just after the surgery I had to renew my drivers licence and; I made a big
point of doing the test without glasses - and I might add I read the bottom
line immediately - totally refusing to start from the top !!!! I was just
so excited about having a licence without the notation that I had to have
glasses to drive
..
I do still need them for fine work and reading though - just the kind you
get at the Chemist for $15.00 off the shelf, which is what my specialist
told me to do.

There is one very bad thing about this though - as you say ,you and your
friends really do not recognise you without glasses, having seen you in
glasses for 64 years. However the worse thing is the inevitable " Frank
have you seen my glasses" every ten minutes. This went on for two years
and finally I was fed up with looking for things that had always been
conveniently on my face!!!

At this point I was in Tofino and in the chemist shop there they had the
perfect thing for me _ bi-focals with just clear glass for the distance and
the reading glass at the bottom. They even had them in sun glasses so
naturally I bought them and immediately went back to wearing glasses for
that simple reason that they are now on my face when I need them !!**!!
Which is where I figure they should be. The only thing wrong with this
is that they do not sell these bi focals in the shops here - you have to
have them made at the optometrist UHG!!

A good excuse to return to Tofino ( as though I need one ! ) God Bless
gwen

Thanks ladies, but I will probably always need glasses, which I don't mind at
all. I've had them since I was 14 for the distance, now I have bifocals too.

Hugs,

Nora
