OT - Mini-Whine on Jobs
So, just thought I'd share a small whine. After waiting 3 weeks for the
"formal offer from HR" - once again - no job. The very nice HR chief sent me an e-mail - essentially saying that their corporate HQ in Germany has told them to hold off on new hires until after the 1st quarter. But thanked me for all my time, and said how much they enjoyed meeting me. Really - I guess that e-mail has made doing the difficult personal personnel conversations easier - since she had told me last week that I'd hear from her with details no later than yesterday. Ugh. But, to let them know if I haven't gotten anything at the end of the quarter because they'll be able to hire then. So, anyhow, I have now made myself a latte, pushed back my tears of frustration after wasting 3 weeks of potential serious job searching, and resisted the temptation to pull out my hair and stitch with it. Going to do the fabulous run to grocery for milk, eggs and more espresso beans...in the face of snow flurries. And then...come home cook and stitch. Maybe I'll be inspired from my inertia. Thanks for listening to the whine. Ellice |

DH has been fighting the same battle, and I was so recently in the same boat. It takes such energy to psych up for the job hunt, and think you finally have it, and then total deflation when the plug is pulled. Sending hugs. sue -- Susan Hartman |

I guess this just is supposed to inspire me to work more dedicatedly and like a business with the teaching pieces/designs. It'll be okay...as always. I hate job hunting. I'm just tired of having these great interviews, being hired conditionally, and then something happening. 3 times in less than a year. Ugh. Ellice |
