Wowsa! Kalera beads & a Shirley spoon!
Today was a banner day at my mailbox. I received the Kalera beads I managed
to score on Monday (the "Funny Girl" boro bead set) and a spoon from Shirley as part of our ear threads swap. I was overwhelmed! Kalera's beads are stunning - but then I never expected anything else, having drooled over the pictures on her website every week. BUT she tucked in two amber faceted beads that are just amazing! You can tell she loves her grinder! My suggestion to anyone who may be hesitant to buy any of her faceted beads - RUN, don't walk to scoop up any she lists! Definitely slurpilicious stuff. And what can I say about my Shirley spoon? I had asked her to try to find something quintessentially British as I'm such an unrepentant Anglophile it's pathetic. And what did she come up with?? A 1936/37 sterling replica of the Anointing Spoon from the Crown Jewels, probably made in Birmingham to commemorate the coronation of Edward VIII or George VI. Can't get any more British than that, now can you? It's a treasure that went straight into my keepsakes & memories box. Thank you, thank you, thank you to both Kalera and Shirley for making this a special January day for me. You are welcome MJ. I was pleased to be able to get you something that
you really wanted in exchange for the ear threads. That spoon is probable a one off and I was fortunate that it was available at that time. I found it quite fun to know it is the same age as me and is definitely vintage. BG Enjoy it and think of me when you fondle it, just like I will think of you when I wear the ear threads. Enjoy your Kalera beads also for I am sure they will be lovely. Shirley Queen of Swaps. In message , Mj writes Today was a banner day at my mailbox. I'm happy you like those! I hovered over my bead box until something
jumped up and said "Me me me! Send me!" Shirley spoons are the best... Breezy was fondling mine the other day, and asked what it was for originally. (I use it for scooping up crystals.) She was so charmed when I told her the story! Mj wrote: Today was a banner day at my mailbox.
