Default Im in love !!! not OT

I got my new (new to me) machine today and its lovely. Its the Janome
memory craft 9000 with the extra software and the scanner for
embroidery. It was a real bargain as the previous owner has hardly had
it out of the box. Ive started a log cabin quilt for my fil & mil's
golden wedding in June. Im going to have to sew like crazy but I think
it's doable (sp?)The janome sews so neatly.
Her name is Jemima Any one else got one of these?

I have had a Janome 9000 for several years and really like it. I do
not have the extra software and scanner. I checked into the software
recently and it was going to cost me $750! I decided I didn't need it
until I upgrade my machine in a few years.

I also was able to purchase my machine used. The woman I bought it
from had purchased it from a sewing and vacuum machine dealer who
could not give many tips on quilting. She wanted to join the local
Berina club and couldn't because she owned a Janome. The price was
right.

One thing I like about the machine is that it is a heavier duty
machine than the Vikings I had been using. I found with my Vikings
that if I did a lot of quilting and then wanted to do embroidery I had
to first take it in to the dealer for an adjustment (had to adjust the
bunny for those of you with a Viking). My Janome just keeps going with
only a cleaning once a year.

I do look at the more advanced embroidery machines at times but don't
think I would use it enough. Maybe if I ever have a grandchild I might
invest in an embroidery only machine. Right now my sons aren't even
dating seriously (at 24 and 28 I really wouldn't mind that they
started).

Enjoy your Janome. I call mine my workhorse.

Susan

No but I saw a lady on the Quilters Flea Market had a bunch of embroidery
software for your new machine for only $25 each.

My first embroidery machine was my 9000. Love it. I bought the 300E for the
larger sewing field and love that as well. I did get the hoop it all for the
huge embroidery field but found that rather confusing, never mind, as I have
just bought the 6500 and use that for my main sewing I find my 9000 is just
sitting there but that doesn't matter as it will still get used now and
again.
I am a sewing machine addict !
