Sandy, thanks!! I think I got Patsy's first feathers DVD as the first
one and it had a lot of good information on it. Then recently I got
the Fast and Free Vol. 3. You get to see her stitching a LOT!

Ahhhh ... feathers! I do love feathers. I suppose it could be very
useful to get yet another viewpoint on how to do them; I've only had
four so far.

I sort of thought you might have been influenced by Patsy Thompson's
stuff! G I've been looking around her web site, but I can't seem to
decide which of her DVDs to try out; I want to do *one*, just to see if
I like the way she teaches. G

Whew!!! I finished it in time to give it for Christmas!!! The last

Before this shot are some other shots showing close-ups of the machine
quilting. I'm not sure the quilt police would be happy because I made
it up as I went along, but I think it will work for my brother and
sister-in-law!

Well, if you're good with feathers and if you're already pretty
familiar with free motion quilting, then get her new Volume 3 Fast and
Free.

That is lovely ! I like the combination that you used of the diff lights
and darks
and colors , as well. Did you have to do a lot of planning for that? One
of
my guild members had a lovely sampler quilt, too, that had a good
combination
of values and colors and somehow I don't think I'd have the confidence in
trying
one. I might try something in EQ first !

There wasn't a lot of planning involved, since each month you didn't
know what your blocks were going to be. I just bought the fabrics
that seemed to play well together and then looked at the block
pattern, looked at the fabrics, and made a selection. It worked out
pretty well. I did try to be sure my fabrics had some darks and some
lights and some mediums so that I would have good choices.
