Default Allegorical motifs

I am plotting and planning a new piece done in reserva work. I'd like to
focus on allegorical motifs for the 4 seasons. Hopefully Spanish and 15th-
17thC too. I've got my silk and linen, just need to come up with a design for
it! Any leads would be great.

Thanks!

Anne , i would start by reading the Deffinitions of the SEASONS as
they are writen in a Dictionary with Historical backgrounds.
[of the terms]. than take a paper each for each season and scribble on
it , every thougght you have about this season. You might also ask
around , family /friends ...... this will give you also comtemporary
ideas .....Look through Symbols dictionaries, as well as a Good book
about Heraldery. And there is a book called ;
"Resplendence of the Spanish Monarchy" by Antonio Dominguez Ortiz ,
Concha Herero Carretero and Jose` A. Godoy, The Metropolitan Museum of
Art , New York 1991, it was printed in conjunction with an Exhibition
, that showed Renaissance Tapestries and Armor from the Patrimonio
Nacional . the elaborate tapestries carry may of the alegorical
[traditional] Spanish figures , and the written material is excellent.
and covered a lot of Historical background.

Sorceress,

Try this period pattern book:

The ones are the bottom should suit you.

Cheers,
