Benrus watch
Hi all,
I usually just lurk, but I thought I would ask for some options. I have found a vintage Benrus ladies watch in the parking lot. The crystal is cracked and it is not keeping good time. The back has 1951 (year?) 14K gold (it's very white metal so I'm guessing it's white gold). It has two small diamonds and two medium diamonds, since it says gold I'm assuming they are real diamonds. I don't think the strap is original since it's just a nylon cord thing. I did not find much on the web about this particular watch. I was wondering if it would be worth while to fix it up or put the metal and stones aside for the day (probably far away) when I have some custom jewelry made. I could salvage the cogs for art work. I don't know anything about watch repair except there is probably not as big a demand for it now then in the past. Any opinions? Thanks, -- Connie Ryman Cryman Studio |

Put a photo or scan up somewhere and point us to it. Also try on alt.horology [[moderator's note: post an image on the web, and put only the URL to it in the newsgroup. It might just be worth looking in your local paper under the
lost/foundcolumn, it might just be someones sentimental / valued family piece wherea substantial reward is offered for its return if found. Or you puti n an advert to say youve found it and a full description given by the owner wouild claim it. you might just get more than the parts are worth. well worth a look . you never know what the outcome of such a contact may bring.!!. a fair maid?
