Your scarf is lovely, Shelagh, it's too bad we can't all have a feel. The
pattern does look quite easy. Did you add some border stitches to it?

Yes, I did.... it was curling on the edges, so I frogged it and added a
garter stitch border of 4 stitches on each side.

That's beautiful Shelagh! And thanks for the link to the pattern,
looks fairly easy. I'm glad you didn't mention another sock yarn
promo! I spent an evening sorting through all the various bags,
boxes, totes and secret hiding places to re-organise my yarn and I
discovered that I have enough sock yarn to stuff a small mattress with!
I am on a sock yarn diet! Big time! No enabling me! I will not hear
you!

Great work! The colour is great too - really suits the elegant lace
pattern.

It is beautiful - and looks wickedly expensive too. Really, you cannot
buy that quality regardless of price. Thank you.

Here's the best part - I found the yarn at Elann.com on line (NAYY). I buy
from them all the time. Their yarns are ends of lines, closeouts, etc. The
silk/cashmere yarn was $4.98 US/$5.78 CDN a ball! I only used not quite 2
balls.

I had tried Googling the yarn, but it must have been discontinued as I
couldn't find it. It is Diamond Desire, made in Italy for Diamond Yarns.
It's a DK weight, 150 metres. It's actually 75% silk, 25% cashmere... I
originally overstated the cashmere, but it's so soft, who worries about 5%?

I also bought 6 balls of the cafe au lait colour to maybe make a shawl, and
have decided if I do, I'll put beads on it to jazz it up. The colour is
quite boring in comparison to the cherry red.
