Default r.c.d netiquette question

I ended up ordering some building supplies, but had to buy large
quantities. Would it be a breach of ettiquette to offer them for sale
here AT COST plus real shipping (no handling)?

Instead of selling it why don't you keep it for a while? I have used
baseboard on the top of walls as a trim, I've used porch posts in doorways
etc.

How about anyone who is interested can email Cathy and finish that
conversation privately.

Though I agree with Carol that keeping 'extra' on hand can be a
lifesaver for the next project that comes along.

You don't understand. I bought BULK. I couldn't find coffee stirrers
locally, but *did* find them online. But the smallest quantity was a
case. That's 10 boxes of stirrers, and each box has 1000 stirrers. I
would have bought 2-3 boxes max, and that's still WAY more than I'd
need. The price was quite good, though.

That's why I posed it as a netiquette question... I'm not interested
in making money off of this. I'm interested in not storing quite so
many coffee stirrers. Is the intent of the "no selling" to prevent
profiteering from a discussion group, clogging it up with for sale
ads? And a situation like this isn't quite the same... For instance,
if BEFORE I had placed the order, I had posted a note like "is anyone
interested in going in on this with me... we'll split the cost and
shipping?" and it wouldn't have been considered selling at all, even
though what I'm doing is essentially the same thing, just after the
fact.

I'll go with what the group says - cease and desist and I will. Or go
ahead and do it, I'll do that too.

The email I use for posting is bogus... don't try emailing to it. To
email me privately use my first name last initial at att period com.
And remember that my first name starts with a "C" not a "K".

Thanks,
Cathy Weeks

this is usenet. there is no ettiquette.

....a little slow on the draw there, Jack.
