Kenmore Monogrammer #41704

HELP!!! What Kenmore machine does this fit on. Kenmore makes 2 that are
similar. I have a #158.1680, vintage Kenmore from the early 1980's. I
really need someone to help me. I have been looking all over the net for
help and no one can tell me which Monogrammer will fit this machine.

Carol, there are a few things to look for:

Is the sewing machine a free arm or not(is the plate over the bobbin
long or is it sort of squarish)? Both the monogrammer and buttonholer
have a plate that replaces the normal cover so look for the right
shape of place in the auction pics.

You also have to see whether this is a low bar, high bar or super high
bar (length of shank of presser feet)and your sewing machine manual
will tell you that (or maybe you should try to get one of those
first).

Sears used to give a 25 year guarantee on parts availability for the
Kenmore line so you still should be able to get the info from the
service counter at your local Sears store. You can also try online
but I did not succeed there.
