Well had a wonderful acquisition yesterday of some yarn and also wool.
I received an e-mail from a former member of RCTY saying that she was
getting rid of some of her stash and wondered if I would like to have
it. Well after talking to my DH I let her know that I would accept it
no problem at all. We drove over to her house yesterday and to my
surprise was given 12 bags (half full garbage bags) full of yarn, wool
and fabric. I haven't finished going through it yet but today will be
going through it with my mom and sister.

What I do know is we have around 60 balls of mohair and crochet cotton
and other mohair and stuff. Really looking forward to picking the
stuff that I am going to be using.

Yes my DH has said that as long as I don't keep more than half of the
stash and we picked up, I only have to count 10% of it was acquired.
Not bad considering all the stash that I currently have.

The former RCTY member was Jane and really appreciated her thinking of
me.

Jane is doing fine.

We finally sorted all the bags and had a lot of fun. Two bags were fun
of fabric so my sister got some of that and the rest will go to
friends.

With regards to the bags of yarn/wool. All the mohair was claimed and
I know who got a lot of it. Now just have to figure out projects that
can use it. My mom was able to get enough mohair for two different
sweaters for herself and my sister took some for scarves.

Some of the yarn was for a knitting machine which I don't have but
considering my DH knows three people that do costumes and props for
movies we are going to see if they would like it. It's been a lot of
fun going through all the stuff and figuring out what could be made
from it and who could use it.

I also got some yarn that I will be using to make scarves for a local
charity.

DH also found some of the yarn that he would like a scarf out of so I
think I am going to be knitting and crocheting for a while.

Well better get back to trying to get some of the many projects I have
on the go done so that I can start some more.

What an exciting gift! I would be more than delighted,
even I did not have space for more, or needed, any more!
Just the feeling of open the bags...! Christmas and birthday at once!
Hope Jane is OK???

Dear Mischief,

Wondering if you get to keep only half what happens if you give the other
half to DH and offer to store it for him?

Well I finally did an inventory of all the yarn, wool and mohair that I
got from Jane and my stash did increase by a considerable amount. I
received 11,800 grams of yarn. Thank goodness I only have to consider
10% of that as acquired as per my deal with DH.

It's hard to believe but I have almost yarn, wool, etc as I weigh. I
developed a spreadsheet to keep track of my inventory of yarn etc and
have to admit that I was really surprised. The grand total of yarn,
wool, etc that I have is 140 pounds or 63,482 grams.

Hopefully I didn't shock anyone too much. Now you know why I can't get
any more for a while.

Gee I really like that idea but I don't think he will go for it
considering I only have to count 1,180 grams as acquired. If I push my
luck I will have to count the entire amount as acquired. I at least
can count the entire amount as used when I get around to using it.

I do have a wonderful DH and it's fun seeing his face when I get some
crazy ideas about what I could make with some of the new yarn or wool
that I got.

He actually has asked if I will make him a gray wool scarf with some of
what I got.
