Default Quilt shops between Iowa and NC

We are going to be traveling by car from Dubuque, IA to Chapel Hill, NC then
by ferry to Orcracoke Island in the Outer Banks. With all the infinite
wisdom of fellow quilters across the land, is there any quilt shops that are
a "must visit" between all those long miles. I can't drag hubby and family
dog too far off the beaten path, but if I tell him the wisdom of the
newsgroup says it's a "must" at least I could work in a stop or two. I
don't hold up much hope for finding quilt shops in the Outer Banks, but I
will be taking hand stitching projects to keep me on track. Thanks in
advance for the help.
Andrea

What route are you driving? Are you going through Ohio? Indiana? or down south a bit first? Give
us some indication of the major cities you will be driving between...

Andrea,

Surely you can work your way down to Paducah, can't you??? I always enjoy
going to Hancock's of Paducah (not like our Hancock's) whenever we go to NC.

Even if you don't go to Hancock's...your entire family might enjoy the
museum and waterfront in Paducah. It's worth the trip.
