Default NZ earthquake?

The earthqauake hit Christchurch (right side of the Sth Island)
10-30km deep. No deaths but 'alot' of structural damage
Some images at the national newspaper
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/ & also
http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news/heav...e-zone-3760215

Sadly a light plane crash on the other coast where 9 died. So a sad
time for little NZ

Thank-you for asking

Thanks for the links and update Carol. Did you personally have any damage?
The photos show a lot of typical earthquake damage but no matter how much
you see it is always still awful. Hope things settle down and after shocks
will be
small and few.
Has anyone heard from jeanne?
Take care.

Jeanne is in Auckland, in the North Island, so she is quite a way from
the epicentre. Hopefully that means she's OK.

No . . . haven't heard from Jeanne. I wish she would report in; I suppose
she could be okay but without connections. Polly

Jeanne is on the North Island, so she should have been unaffected
physically.

She's been posting on Facebook, and thankfully, she was unaffected by the earthquake.
