Default Removal of Pencil Marks

Greetings Group -

Can someone refresh my memory on removing pencil marks?
I purchased a wolf kit from the Goodwill for .99, and the only
thing the previous owner did was sketch the area on the 18-count
Fiddler's cloth. I haven't done anything yet, so I'm thinking using
an eraser first, then Orvus.

Comments?

TIA,

Eva in Sunny Kent, WA, US

Using an eraser could give you more grief than that which you started
(the pencil marks). I tried that, once. I know of no way to remove them.
Even washing often doesn't work.

Try using a white vinyl eraser. Often sold in office supply stores or
in fabric stores, they seem to work fairly well at removing pencil
marks from fabric without smearing.
