QE2
I'm booked on a trip with the QE2 toward the end of October -- round
trip Southampton for 16 days with stops in Lisbon, Granada, Palermo, Alexandria, Ephesus, Athens, and Rome. Is there anybody reading this group who is going on that trip, too? I'm getting my lap quilting project ready to take with me for those lovely, quiet afternoons at sea in the starboard lounge on the Upper Deck, and encourage anybody also going on that trip to pack some needlework, knitting, tatting, or portable quilting! It's a fairly quiet area on board, near a small pub handy to pick up tea, soft drinks, or anything else one enjoys drinking, and has clear view of the ocean with wonderful natural light. It's a great way to meet people! What I'm taking with me this trip are squares marked for whole cloth qulting, to be assembled later at home as a quilt for a twin bed in a guest room. I won't take all of the blocks with me, of course, but enough to keep me busy on board. Embroidery scissors will be packed in the checked bag, of course, but the rest can go in my carry-on. |

Have you thought about taking those round thread cutters that looks like a
medallion that hangs on a cord around your neck. Since you are doing a wholecloth quilt you only need to cut lengths of handquilting thread. The airport security folk would have no problem with your pretty necklace. -- http://community.webshots.com/user/snigdibbly SNIGDIBBLY ~e~ " / \ http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/snigdibbly. http://www.ebaystores.com/snigdibbly...ox&refid=store "Mary" wrote in message oups.com... You can also use the cutting part of the dental floss containers. Works well
and no threat to security. Linda |
