Default Weeks Dye Works Threads

As others have said, you may use either method. When stitching my
designs (I use a LOT of WDW and Gentle Arts), I ALWAYS cross each
stitch as I go. You don't really get the full "effect" if you don't,
but again -- it's entirely up to you. I sometimes even cut the threads
in variegated fibers to give it the shading *I* want it to have,
instead of "stripes". The best part about these threads is they're FUN
-- so enjoy!

So right - they're fun and beautiful. Going one step further, there are some
designers who specialize in using the overdyes in specific order, by
manipulating which section you use. CA Wells does this. I've been having
fun finishing a Nanette Costa design, done with Needle Necessities (a
rainbow overdye- gorgeous) and complementary silks in my case. There are
sections which are mirror image blocks, stitched in overdye. The fun thing
is you can actually, with some effort, work it so that the blocks, even in
overdye, really do mirror each other - symmetrically. It's a little work,
and requires some organization, but wow - what a neat look.

The other great overdye I've come to love is the NN overdyed Kreinik
braid. It's gorgeous, a really rich look. Good for a little splash splurge.

Have fun - gotta run and get some skates sharpened.

So that means that the Weeks threads should blend in well with Anchor
threads, then. That`s useful to know! Thanks.

If you really look at them, you can see which base threads are there. It
helps sometimes when organizing for a design - you can really work the color
family - like painting. Using an underlying color, with different things on
top. Clear as mud, I'm sure.

My WDW rings were the first full set of designer rings I received! My pal
who owns the LNS was at market with me (I was doing the looking, and meeting
thing) and she was quite jealous, as those are an expensive set of samples.
I cherish them ;^)
