For your amusement
I apologize for the long URL, but when I saw this, I knew the fine folk at
r.c.b would enjoy it. Or deride it depending. http://store.nordstrom.com/product/product.asp?styleid=2859321&category=2376779~23746 04~2375352~2377740&PrevStyleID=2854455&NextStyleID =2850069 If the link doesn't work, go to http://www.nordstroms.com and go to the fashion jewelry section. It's a loomwork bracelet by Juicy Couture. I'm wondering if they glued the ends into the closure. But it's making me want to break out the loom and do some 'tude bracelets. Michele |

For nice girls who like stuff? Who writes this?
I like the clasp, though. The safety pin should hold if the bracelet ever comes apart when it shouldn't. Okay, what is "funky boho fashion?"
I guess I don't have it, since I don't know what it is. LOL Maybe I have to rethink seed beads. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! KarenK |

Blech. Sorry - I don't like that at all - and I usually love funky
things. The colors are terrible! The idea is kind of cool, though. -- Kandice Seeber Air & Earth Designs http://www.lampwork.net I apologize for the long URL, but when I saw this, I knew the fine folk at r.c.b would enjoy it. The idea is cool. I like the clasp.. the colors dont move me and the
sentiment expressed on it is so negative. Its not art, its a billboard for apathy! lol Hmm.. if I took the time to weave something like that, and it *had* to say something what would I choose? Passion! But I wouldnt. I dont want to carry signs. Diana -- Weird people need beads, too "Kandice Seeber" wrote in message ... Blech. I see that and the $125 price tag and I'm wondering who made it and how much
they got for making it. Probably a lot less than $125. -Ellen |

To me, that means it was probably made in China, and the worker who wove it got well under a dollar. I've been trying to find "fair trade" items, which means that the worker are getting a living wage. The items aren't easy to find - but when I find things, I'd be happy to share the names of suppliers. BTW, Japanese and Czech beads are made under humane conditions, as are Peruvian ceramic beads and Tagua nut beads, in addition to the beads that Sooz listed. Kathy N-V |

Well, of course. Nordstrom would buy it at somewhere around $60 to retail
at $125. Same as if we put something in a gallery, they will double the price. The job of retailing is important and significant. If you sell beads on eBay, you get the price of the beads plus the price of the retail job. The more effective merchandising job you do the higher the price you get, not necessarily for the bead, but for both the job of making a bead and also the job of selling the bead. Because I don't want have the energy for both jobs, I choose to just do the job of creating, and get only wholesale price from a gallery. Tina "JavaGirlBT" wrote in message ... Well, of course. Nordstrom would buy it at somewhere around $60 to
retail at $125. Nordstrom would pay Juicy Coutoure maybe 60 bucks. Juicy Coutoure would be buying from another intermediary. The actual beader gets paid pennies after everyone takes a cut. Too sad... ...Stephanie.. |
