will you post pics? I have not made quilted clothing, but some of those
jackets sound great (I think vests do not fit my body type, for some reason). BTW, what kind of 'bread wrappers' are we talking about here? I cannot envision knitting with anything I've seen bread wrapped in lately... is this something that is no longer in use? Joan8904 wrote: I'm almost finished with a rag vest made from black and red batiks. Not sure if I'm going to like it when it's done. (Isn't that one of the big differences between ready-made and 'home made' clothing? :) As a result, there are little pieces of fabric scattered thruout the house. No need to clean up until I'm finished. I did get my Valentine purse finished last week. I've just realized that by using some of the same fabrics, I've created a matching vest and purse combination. Talk about matching! : again. Reminds me of a lady I knew years ago in rural southern Indiana. She crocheted items with strips of bread wrappers. She was so proud that she'd made a matching hat and kitchen throw rug. I always wondered why. Now I've done it myself! joan joan o'reilly Watch your thoughts, they become words. Those plastic bags that bread comes in, usually printed with colored ink. You can cut them in strips (probably spiral around the bag) and use them for crocheting rugs or plant coasters or whatever. My husband's grandmother used to make those rugs. She used one by the back door to catch mud and sand from people's feet. They were easy to clean To keep this on-topic: She was also a quilter; I have several of her quilts. I attended the Orlando quilt show Friday, then when I returned home, I marked
some more Press N Seal with the quilting pattern for the sashing of my Celtic knot quilt. Saturday, I managed to machine quilt all but 4 of the sashing strips. Today, I finished the final sashing strips. Then I pulled out a project from last winter, and after re-reading the pattern and looking through all the parts, I started to paper piece the setting squares. Two down, six more to go!
