Possibly not all of us like it quite as much as chocolate...

*snipped interesting tale*

I made caramels the other day, and dipped them in dark chocolate.
No borders, no applique. Let me know when you'll be dropping by....

Nice thing about doing Weight Watchers is that I have lost 48 lbs and
still get to eat chocolate and fudge if I want to. I eat them a lot
less than of yore, but I want them less too.

Now that recipe I WOULD have to avoid! Bananananana Bread is bad enough.

LOL! Quilts can be like that! Fudge is good, especially when it doesn't
show. Unfortunately all I have to do is *look* at a plate of real fudge and
I gain five pounds. I think your kind of fudge is better for me.

We like fudge, don't we?

Possibly not all of us like it quite as much as chocolate...

However, in this instance, fudge is what we need, and chocolate will have
to wait until later...

Remember before Christmas that I got yelled at by a Fat Quarter book quilt
that wanted to be made? Well, I did the main part of the top just fine.
Then it started whispering to me about borders...

Remember the fudge? I'm getting to it, don't worry.

I have a book about borders and binding. It's called Happy Endings. It
has some lovely ideas in it. I'd put a nice wide border on my quilt, same
size as the blocks, and using the block background fabric. It looked
fine, but not exciting. Then the borders book got in league with the
quilt top and asked for ... wait for it... A SCALLOPED APPLIQUE border
in a plain colour taken from the background fabric! Yikes! Hm...
Interesting...

Well, I found a good blue/lilac colour to complement the irises in the
background, with a bit of help from Tracy at Jem's, so that was OK. I
drew a pattern for my border, and then I cut it out, and it didn't quite
fit... exactly... Not at every corner...

Here's the fudge at last!

I have mitered the aplique border, and fudged all the corners just a
leeeettle bit! Once I have sewn it down and finished the edge (the damned
thing wants a piped edge now!) I think you won't see the fudge. So that's
OK, isn't it? And fudge is ever so good.

Now I've finished the fudge, anyone want chocolate?

Photos coming! I want to complete the top first: I just have to stitch
that fudged border... I think I'll do it with this very nice tiny
blanket type stitch I have on the machine. I'm just not so sure which
thread to use... Time to experiment!
