Covering ceramic eggs
I have a question about covering ceramic eggs with polymer clay. I am
useless at real eggs... they break so easily because I shake badly. I would like to cover a ceramic egg that I came across. Do I need to put a layer of clay on it before applying canes or can I put a sheet of canes on it? I hope that this is clear. I know what I mean to say, but it does not always come through. Covering ceramic eggs
I dont know about ceramic eggs, sorry. Im wondering tho if you are
trying to work directly on blown eggshells. Once I was doing a class showing kids how to cover eggs and first covered the shells with a thin, baked and sanded shell of polymer and gave them that to cover. It cut down on the breakage dramatically. I made thin sheets of clay with the pasta machine then did a bit of draping and cutting to get the new shell fairly smooth. It was a good way to use up mud, too. HTH Diana ozana wrote: I have a question about covering ceramic eggs with polymer clay. I am useless at real eggs... they break so easily because I shake badly. Covering ceramic eggs
you can bake on ceramic eggs. However, I like to bake real eggshells with a
layer or two of the liquid clays for strength. Here's two pages.... http:/www.polyclay.com/eggs.htm http:/www.polyclay.com/BB2PCG.htm Sarajane -- Sarajane's Polyclay Gallery Beads-Dolls-Wearable Art www.polyclay.com see the current auctions at: http://snipurl.com/aiid "ozana" wrote in message ink.net...
