Default Searching for a leather source. Crossposted

Can anyone help me source some leather please? What I am looking for are
leather bookmark blanks of 1 or 2 cms wide in various colours tooled or un
tooled. I have done a google search but not come up with anything that seems
right, only kits to make your own bookmarks that contain 3 bookmarks. I am
begining to think I will have to buy leather and cut the strips myself with
a roatary cutter, so do any of you know of a good source for this.

DH is a sculpter and has come up with a great little cat face, which I in my
moment of inspiration thought would be terrific if it was attached to a
leather strip and used as a bookmark! I think not too wide a bookmark simply
because the ones I have at the moment ( personal use ) are not wide but are
long and are good in paperbacks or hardbacks. Prahaps I won't get lucky but
it would look great I know it would.
Thanks

Don't know about bookmark blanks or leather
suppliers in France, but my daughter buys leather from
Le Prevo, which in spite of its name is located in
Newcastle upon Tyne.

http://www.leprevo.co.uk/offers.html

Their boxes of leather offcuts (SP31) are particularly good value
and fun to find uses for. which reminds me - as August is
almost over I had better order some to start making Christmas presents.

You probably will need to invest in a rotary cutter and cutting mat. I
don't know that I've ever seen bookmark blanks. I use leather to
reinforce skid boots for dogs. I've done business with both of these
vendors and they've both been excellent to deal with.
