Default I'm on a roll! Another *finished quilt!

Wanted to make something simple and inexpensive for a woman in a nursing
home. Couldn't have been much simpler or inexpensive than this. It was all
from my stash except the backing. Decided to add some leaves when it looked
kind of boring...

First two pics in the Sewing/Quilting folder, post QI inspection.

I did the binding with rayon and it seems to have come through the wash
okay, but I'm wondering whether I should re-sew the binding with cotton.
What do you think?

Mind you--the two finished quilts were started from scratch. There are still
6 tops ready and waiting...

Hi Heidi
Those leaves are a nice touch - your friend will love it.
I see your sewing table is getting a good workout. I bet you hate to leave your
sewing area.

Beautiful Heidi

I'm sure she's gonna love it! The colors are so soft.

Very pretty!

I sew on the binding with cotton (or cotton-poly if that's all I have of the
right color), then often use rayon for thread quilting and it washes just
fine. Maybe if you reinforce the binding by using your pretty rayon thread
to SID or a line of decorative machine stitch just to ease your mind?

Delightful colors ... and those leaves really do add pizzazz!
Heidi, since this quilt is at a Nursing Home, I strongly urge you
to follow up with another line of stitching, using everyday Dual
Duty or Cotton thread. Institutional laundry service is HOT and
ROUGH! This is to control spread of disease, good for residents
but bad for fabric. If it were my project I'd go around it once
with the SM and the sturdy thread.

I have no idea about the rayon but WOW! I just love your color choices in
*every* picture! Really beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Wow, Heidi -- you're really going gangbusters, aren't you? g But it's
a lovely quilt. I like those leaves; they really give it a nice touch.

I wouldn't have called it boring even without the leaves, Heidi, although I
do agree with you that they add a lot of oomph! Very nice and I'm sure the
recipient will really appreciate it.
