Default The problem with reading the UK stitching magazines

I've become addicted to reading the UK magazines, especially Stitch. Well,
now it's going to get expensive. I want a Prym Flower loom. It looks far
more flexible than any thing I can find from a US company. And as of right
now, they don't sell it in the US....

I can't make that image come up, but your message reminds me of a neat
little blue leather covered cusion - maybe 5" or so in diameter that
my mother had for making snowflake or flower-like doilies. I have
some still - about 3" in diameter. I believe it was called a Koppo
Cushion or something like that. Instead of the preset little teeth I
see on some of those flower looms, this Koppo Custion had a concentric
rings of holes in which you placed little pegs, allowing design
flexibility. Then you wove your yarn or thread in and out to make the
little snowflake. Sadly, it was lost long ago, when she died & my
step-father sold her belongings. Has anyone heard of this tool? I
may not be spelling it right. I have always been sorry it was let go,
and have never found it on the web.

Oh, one more thing... the instructions were written in Oriental
looking symbols. I remember my mother fussing over that because no
illustrations were included, so she figured it out on her own. I
don't think she bought it new.

This must be my lucky morning. Look what I found! This is it!

Daisy Winder From Japan.

And thanks for the link, Bruce. It comes up fine. I'm sure Cheryl is
going to have fun....

http://www.knitting-and.com/blog/001516.html shows the Koppo cushion
being described as a teneriffe lace maker. I surely wish I could find
one, but none for sale that I can locate.

Cheryl,

Do you subscribe? or are you getting Stitch somewhere else? My local
bookstores seem to have stopped carrying it and I absolutely love that
magazine.

I get it Barnes and Noble. I've thought about subscribing, but with the
overseas penalty vs my 10% BN card plus I can use my coupons on magazines
there.

You're enabling me dear!

According to http://www.lacis.com/catalog/data/links/lf69.pdf
"Teneriffe Lace is always worked on a form which was and can be of a
variety of configurations ranging from a stuffed firm pillow, a flat
disk or a mechanical three-dimensional device. Many proprietary devices
evolved with the popularity of the technique and several are illustrated
in these books. Unfortunately, none of these are readily available."
