Today, after several long weeks of pain, I am finally getting in to the
dentist to have an extremely loose molar removed. The damn thing has been
driving me crazy, and I've been kept sane by painkillers for the last week
or so when it got really painful.

So today at 3 pm EST please think of me and hope that the dentist doesn't

do
something to further instill my fear of people who do weird things to your
mouth.

Linda2

P.S. Thinking of asking for the tooth so I can make a pendant of it.

Yes! Maybe peyote around the roots as you would a fang.

All the RCB vibes worked again!

The horrid tooth is out of my mouth, and it was over and done with in less
than a second. No pain, just a little soreness now.

Thanks for all the good wishes! It worked!

Great! I'd rather have a tooth pulled than have a root canal any day.

But of course! I;ve got to soak it in peroxide but then it shall be beaded
as a reminder to GO TO THE DENTIST REGULARLY!

Actually, the tooth was fine. My gums are bad and I developed an infection
that destroyed a lot of the bone mass around the tooth, making it loose. The
x-ray showed it floating in a sea of infection. The doc actually wanted to
do a bone graft as soon as the tooth was out but my pitiful finances didn't
allow that. Besides, it's not like another tooth is ever going to grow there
again.

Because of the infection, he had to double the novocaine so I wouldn't feel
him pulling the tooth. Believe it or not, my lower lip is STILL numb!

It is possible to have a replacement tooth implanted at a later time
if the jaw bone is healthy enough to receive it. He may have wanted to
let you keep that option open.

Damn, but I wish health care (including dental care) wasn't so job and
income related, and that people weren't held hostage in bad work
situations by their need for it. Or kept from having it by
circumstances in which they have no real choice.

Last itme I went to the dentist, I needed a lot of novocaine (because of the
FMS)....it numbed part of my throat. Yeek! I felt like I was choking, which
was an illusion from the numbness. Blecch!

Root canals are no big deal. Holding my mouth open too long was the worst part
of any root canal. shrug

Great! I'd rather have a tooth pulled than have a root canal any day.
