My pleasure! I like to help when I can! Like I said, if I had an actual
pattern for one that I thought might work, I would be more than happy to
share it with you. )

Peace!

Wow! Thank you soooo much! I'm going to be busy looking at these.
If I was better at sewing then I would definitely make one for my
little man but I'm just not good with my machine yet. :-)

I have posted a few times before but I'm a veteran lurker.

Thanks again,
Bonnie

Hi Noreen,

Not rude at all! BUT if you decide to share, I'll be first in line.

Hi, Bonnie!
It's just that I worked SO hard at it, using alot of math and bits and
pieces of 7 other existing patterns for different things.... hood here,
capelet there, cloak here, etc...
thanks for understanding, I'm NOT a normally selfish person, and I didn't
want to sound rude...
Hugs,
Noreen

I found one he

http://www.knitting-crochet.com/crochet/hooscacro.html

Just in case the pattern doesn't show up, here it is:

Crochet Hooded Scarf

Convert this pattern to knit Thank you

Hi, I am fairly new to computers and this is my first time on
the Web, so please bear with me and correct me if I make a mistake. I've
designed this hooded scarf in December 1997 and have sent it to many of my
crochet pen pals. I don't have a picture (and even if I did, I wouldn't
know how to send it). This pattern is unique in that nothing is 'required'
except for the measurements and that will insure the hooded scarf will fit
anyone. The crocheter has the choice of hook size, yarn type, stitches,
gauge and closure method (if any). This pattern also does not care if you
are right or left handed. As long as the measurements are followed, size
will fit the individual regardless of the type of yarn used (baby, sport
weight, worsted weight, bulky, etc) or the hook size. Using different yarns
and hooks will give an entirely different look each time the item is made.

The pattern for a Ladies small was made using Caron Simply Soft
100% Acrylic Worsted Weight Yarn #9703 Bone and used approximately 12
ounces.

Suggested Stitches: Single Crochet (SC);
Half Double Crochet (HDC);

Double Crochet (DC);

Triple Crochet (TC);

Popcorn (PC);

Puff Stitch (PF).

Suggested Closures for the front of the scarf: None, Ties,
Buttons, Zipper, Belcro, Hook & Eye; Snaps.

Before starting write down the following measurements:

CROWN LENGTH: Measure from the bottom of the earlobe on one side
of the head, up and over the crown to the bottom of the other earlobe.

FOREHEAD LENGTH; Measure from the top front of the forehead to
the crown at the back of the head and add 2" for the fold at the front of
the hood.

SHOULDER LENGTH; Measure from the center of the breastbone to
the shoulder edge.

FRONT LENGTH; Measure from the collarbone down the front of the
body for as long as you want the scarf to be.

Pattern Choice:

SC Pattern: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn

HDC Pattern: HDC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn

DC Pattern: DC in each stitch across, chain 2, turn

TC Pattern: TC in each stitch across, chain 3, turn

PC Pattern: PC in each stitch across, chain 2, turn

PF Pattern: PF in each stitch across, chain 2, turn

Start: Make a chain as long as the CROWN LENGTH - crochet in
each stitch across using your selected pattern. Continue in pattern until
piece measures FOREHEAD LENGTH, then fasten off.

For Back Seam: Thread a needle with the yarn and fold the piece
in half (from earlobe to earlobe), wrong sides facing. Attach yarn at neck
edge and going under all 4 loops, whip stitch through all stitches. Fasten
Off.

Using the hook, attach yarn in a corner stitch at neck edge with
a SC. SC in each stitch around neck edge and the front of the hood. Fasten
Off.

Fold the front edge of the hood 1 ½" toward the back and on the
outside of the hood. Tack in place at each corner and once or twice across
the top.

For the scarf: Make a chain as long as the FRONT LENGTH, SC in
the first corner stitch and each stitch around, then chain as long as the
FRONT LENGTH, turn. Follow your pattern until piece measures the SHOULDER
LENGTH. Fasten off.

Starting at the neck edge of the scarf, with the right side
facing, SC in first stitch and each stitch around with 3 SC in each corner.

If you have chosen a Closure Method, the first closure should be
at the neck, with the rest of the closures evenly spaced down the front of
the scarf. If you have chosen to use Ties, make a chain 7" long and join
with a SC in the
stitch.

This Hooded Scarf can be worn either under or over the coat.

Please enjoy

Good Idea, I looked but on opening some found them to be just little
shoulder capes so didn't t put up the urls.

Lycos also found a whole bunch of them too...don't often use Lycos, ought to
really cos they sometimes get better hits, guess it depends though.

Cheers.....Cher

useful
to
Bonnie

hugz Cher

) Well we all know how much I love to search for pattern URLs to try to
help out. I hope at least one of them will be close to what Bonnie is
looking for, then she can tweak the pattern a bit or make it larger to

make
it just right!

Hi All,

How would I find a pattern to make a hooded cape (like a Star Wars jedi) for
my 5yo boy?
It would just be for dress up around the house so it doesn't have to be an
exact replica. I would
like to crochet it since my knitting is still in the newbie stages.

I found this very lovely knitted hooded cape for adults in this page:

Good luck!
