Decorative Crochet Magazine - Still being published?
Hi Tanya!!
Decorative Crochet and Magic Crochet (same people) are my favorite magazines. I do believe that they went out of business. The magazines both originate from France and put into English over here. Inside the cover it tells you about subscriptions to it. It is an address in Danbury, Connecticut. There is no phone number anywhere. I even called information about both magazines and the publishers. Nothing. I had subscribed to them both for years, and this past year when the subscriptions ran out, so did the magazines!!!! I am just sick about it. They put out a third magazine too, only I can't think of the name. I found it when I went to a Borders bookstore. (There isn't a Borders anywhere near here : ( ) That is all the info I have on it. I hope like you do, they are out there somewhere!!!! Fairwinner |

Decorative Crochet Magazine - Still being published?
The most recent copy I have of Crochet Monthly which is available in the UK,
has the subtitle of Magic Crochet. It is published in France by Editions de Saxe. At the bottom of the front cover it says UK: monthly - Number 314, USA: Subscribers number 159. The only contact address is in Lyon, France. The website is www.edisaxe.com which is in French , the 'Site Anglais' link didn't work, and when I searched for the two titles - nothing. I'm afraid this isn't much help, but it does seem that Magic Crochet was the US version of Crochet Monthly and now they've combined AFAIK. Decorative Crochet Magazine - Still being published?
Thank you both so much for the information. Amazon.com used to sell
both of these magazines, and they have both disappeared from their site. Maybe I'll try to write and find out what happened. From what I can tell, there seems to be quite a few people who really enjoyed those magazines. Apparently not enough for them to continue publication. I really appreciate your help. Thanks again!! Decorative Crochet Magazine - Still being published?
Thanks to an extreme Amazon Magazines mistake, I found out through
them (after having paid for my subscription) that both Magic Crochet and Decorative Crochet have ceased publication. Seems that after Les Editions de Saxe decided to axe the magazines, they didn't bother telling Amazon to stop taking money for the subscriptions. After receiving no magazines or hearing not a word for months, I emailed customer service, which started the investigative process. The powers that be at Amazon Magazines sent me a subscription to Crochet Monthly (UK) in its place. While the publisher (and the idea is the same), Crochet Monthly is a very sad substitute for Magic (or Decorative) Crochet. The magazine is not only a lot less pages (I'd say by half), the cost is prohibitive - $67.24 US per subscription year. I will really miss Magic Crochet - very seldom do you come upon such beautiful patterns combined with gorgeous photos - not to mention the wonderful graphic pattern layout.
