Class update
In case anyone is interested....
Only two weeks left of my lampworking class... bummer! Next week is open torch. Yesterday we did silver foil, and more twisties (which is what we focused on the week before, along with florals.) What I really really like - florals. :-) I've made 4. One looks really good, but isn't round (triangles are nice too.) One is all transparents, and looks nice, and is mostly round...but a bit hard to tell they're flowers. Two this week - tried adding leaves, without much luck. They're nice looking in an impressionistic sort of way... :-) What I really really hate - encasing :-( Can't do it for the life of me, always end up with a huge shapeless blob and then the inside bead melts again, and the whole thing just gets....icky. I know what I'm doing wrong, just can't seem to do it right. Although this week's two beads with silver foil actually came out ok, if you don't really care that they're not exactly round, or exactly entirely encased, or a few other picky details. But the teacher liked what the foil did. (I liked what it did on hers better, and theoretically I did the same thing, with completely different results.) Having a blast, still trying to figure out how to get set up at home, and how to pay for it. Hopefully my trunk show will actually make enough to pay for the month-long supply binge I've been on, and have some left over (or enough special orders) to start buying lampworking equipment. I can hope anyway. :-) Karin |

Sounds like class is going pretty well!
I like to see floras - but haven't gotten the hang of them myself - could be because I just love swirling the colors together Best of luck on your trunk show!!!!
