Default Fancy bag

I just returned from a Red Hat convention this week and spotted one of the
cutest bags I ever saw. I was admiring it but couldn't figure out what the
fabric was. When I got up close and handled it, I realized it was strips of
seat belting in bright red. Someone had woven them together to make the
"fabric" and had crafted the bag from that. The owner told me she paid $50 for
it. Fifty bucks! Made from scraps!

Makes you think, doesn't it?

When you say seat belting do you mean like for lawn furniture or seat belts
that are in cars?

Seart belts in cars. The real heavy duty stuff. It was gorgeous and very
sophisticated looking. Not at all klunky or cobbled together. Very nice.

Yes, but will you?

Nann
remembering a sign at a craft fair: "Yes, you could make this yourself, but
you never will...so buy it now!"

Under Mercedes Benz, Accessories For Her,
seatbelt "baguette", totes, and handbag.
Dear Husband gave one of these to him mother for her
birthday last year; she loves it. He says these bags are
very popular. hmmmm....
When offered one, I said, "Not to my taste, but thank you
for asking." ;-)

Hiya, Sandy,

Actually, I think these bags could be to my taste, if someone handed me one
(the big one, in red, please). However, I can think of a lot of things I
would
rather do with $70 - $100!

Thanks for the looksie.

Happy stitching,
Janet of Gar

seatbelts need to be replaced some times, uh?
But I know what Nann means, I have tons of half thought/planned projects
that started under the same notion of "I can do that". But then again,
that is what got me into quilting. I lived in PA and could not afford an
amish made quilt, but I figured I could make one... )

I also liked the red one, and yes, that is something I could use (unlike
the armadillo one my dad brought me from Paraguay). However, the price
of the handbag is nothing compared to the prize of other items! 36 bucks
for a mirror? 65 for a case for the glasses?
