Default Pfaff 1/4" foot!

Did you Pfaff owners know that they make a 1/4" quilting foot? I picked
mine up today. It snaps on, is open so you can see what you're stitching,
and you don't have to move the needle.

I think I'm going to like this!

So does Bernina, Nann, and it's not something you can't live without but
sure is a honey. Bernina's is a #37 just in case somebody wants to know
what to give a Bernie owner for a gift - beats the heck out of bamboo
steamers and salad shooters. Polly

Yup, I really like mine. I bought my machine used from a friend who is a
quilter, and she included the foot in the purchase. It's pretty accurate as
1/4" feet go. The one I have for my White was a touch off measurement.
Enjoy.

It came with the quilter's package when I bought my machine! It's great,
except that occasionally I forget to switch feet when I'm about to do
something besides a straight stitch.

I have the 1/4" foot for piecing and a darning foot as well as the quilting
foot that is square-ish and
an embroidery foot ( that is open ) I use for applique using satin st or
blanket st. Is this somehow different?..or
new?....I wish my local dealer would advise us on new feet...I found a use
for the embroidery foot
that is used for hoop embroideries...I use it as a hopping foot for free
motion quilting. Actually
a gal I know that does great free motion quilting and has the Pfaff showed
us this foot's use in
a class. I'd go to their web site to find out more but find that site not
user friendly !!!....Very
hard to navigate or find things...and fiine fine fonts !!...Mary

still didn't see the
open quilting foot though....

I love that #37 foot, Polly, but I have two other "solutions", too.
First, I have an old-fashioned #13 foot with one of those seam gauges
permanently attached at 1/4" from the center needle position. My DSIL
(he's really handy G) cut off the extra length from the crossbar so it
wouldn't get in my way. Credit Sharyn Craig for that idea.

Second, Bernina has now come out with the #37 foot with a sort of
barrier attached at 1/4"; it's the #57 foot. That one is great, too, and
almost replaces the #13 set-up I have, except when I really need extra
visibility; the #13 gives lots of visibility.

It all depends on what I"m doing as to which of these three feet I use
for piecing.
