Someone sending email as me, but that's not me
I had to close, cancel, delete all of my old email address: quilt shop
hopper all run together, because I got an email from a spammer, and when I tried to block sender, my very own email was listed as hers. So, if you have received any emails from that old email address since 1 Oct, it wasn't me. I reported the hijacking to my ISP, but they have not done anything yet to stop this person. Isn't hijacking someone else's email account illegal, punishable by some legal means or by just taking away the guilty party's computer for a year? Sigh. Gone are the days when we didn't worry about such things. cyndi |

If someone is actually getting into your computer and sending email through
your ISP then they would take action. However this sounds more like someone is just typing your email address in the From area. Your ISP can't do much to stop that. You'd have to trace down the ISP of the person doing the stealing and complain to their ISP. You'll be a lot better off if you don't use your real email address on Usenet newsgroups. Or use an email address that you won't mind dumping if it gets to be a problem like hotmail or yahoo. -- Jeri "Change is inevitable, except from vending machines." http://community.webshots.com/user/owlie47 QuiltsWithCatFur wrote: I had to close, cancel, delete all of my old email address: quilt shop hopper all run together, because I got an email from a spammer, and when I tried to block sender, my very own email was listed as hers. I got one. So - are you still getting the Hug requests? You can update me
here, just leave spaces between things so it can't be harvested. Thanks. Karen, Queen of Squishies |

Yes, I am getting email just fine to the screen name here, but I wasn't
getting much but tons of spam at the old email. I am still prepping hug-related stuff. cyndi "Queen of Squishies" RisingStars @ KarenTucker.com wrote in message news:OG37f.510847$xm3.301001@attbi_s21... I got one.
