Knitting Help

Hello,
I am a very new knitter, and I have run across the following
direction:
P2tog without slipping sts off needle, then K2tog over same sts.
I understand the P2tog and K2tog seperately, but I can't seem to do
the two together. Can anyone help?

"P2tog" and "k2tog" (and for that matter K and p) have 4 actions:
a. Stick the working needle through the stitch(es) on the other needle
b. wrap the yarn around the needle tip
c. pull the wrapped yarn through the stitch(es) to the other side of the
(non-working) needle
d. slip the stitch(es) off the (non-working) needle

For the operation you describe, you perform a-c of the P2tog and then a-d of
the K2tog on those same 2 stitches.

Sounds like you are making a bobble or popcorn of some sort...

Just take it slowly and it helps if you have loose stitches. P2 tog,
leave them on the left needle without dropping them off. Then k2tog in
the same stitches as best you can. It may help if you work on a sample
piece first, doing them over and over until you feel comfortable doing it.

ave you tried a cable needle for purl 2 together. That way no slip offs. It just a idea.
