would tell me what they want to be, but they are keeping silent. I am
out of ideas.

The recipient is an 11 year old girl. I want to make something that
she'll like for years to come. I've been reminded repeatedly that a 13
year olds tastes are entirely different from an eleven year old, not to
mention the differences between a 15 year old and a 13 year old, etc.

I was thinking something simple but her mom mentioned that - while she
quilts, she "only sews squares together" (like that doesn't count or
something). So I'm guessing they're expecting something besides
squares.

But I would like it to be fairly simple. I have a two year old and
another on the way. The 11 year old is also expecting a sibling and
I'd like to add that baby to my "to quilt for" list.

So, any ideas?
TIA,
Tamra

Sounds like they expect a quilt of pieced blocks using any shape other
than a square. How about friendship star blocks. Lots of triangles
in them, and stars never seem to go out of style.
