Default OT kind of: pincushion dolls

I was thinking how fun it would be to have a pincushion doll to hold the
needles . Has anyone else done that? It would be so pretty to have sitting
next to the work.

I have an old pincushion doll who used to hold a lady's hatpins. She has a
"Marie Antoinette" sort of hairstyle, and a pink satin skirt.
I have often thought it would be nice to make another that I would feel
more comfortable using, since "Marie" is quite old, but haven't ever found
the little china half-dolls locally.
Joan's suggestion about the voodoo doll type might work though. Take that,
and that, and ......

I have a half doll pincushion that I haven't seen since. She's asleep
on her side with her hand under her head and her eyes are closed. I
did a search for pincushion doll and found sites where you can get new
half dolls. http://www.brierrose.com/halfdoll.htm and
http://www.helengibb.com. There are a number of others but many are
for the molds. I haven't ordered anything from either of these sites
(yet) but there is a little Dutch girl with my name on it!

Oh that brings back mremories - my mother had one just like "Antoinetee" on
a chocolate box, the lid of which was a green silk crinoline, with, of
course, the half doll on top. She used to keep all my hair ribbons in it!
Boy - I haven`t seen it for about 60 years, but I remember it so well
sitting on top of her chest of drawers in her bedroom.
