i just bought a ferric chloride powder for my etching. Can anyone show

It's easy enough, draw your design in negative on your work-piece with
your chosen masking material (just about anything from enamel paints to
some heavy felt tipped pens will work) then just mix some of the powder
with water, about a table spoon full in a pint of water should be
enough but you can play with the proportions. Immerse the piece in the
liquid with the mask material in place and leave.

If you heat the liquid it'll work faster.

It's the process used to make printed circuit boards at home by
hobbyists so it'll be detailed in most electronic hobby manuals.
