OT - Poor me

I am so depressed. It has been 3 months since my auto accident with the
drunk driver and I have 2 ruptured discs, 2 bulging discs and 1 slipped
discs with recurring migrains. I am taking assorted pills and doing therapy,
but all I can say is wah wah wah, poor me. When I can't even sit down at my
sm you know things aren't doing well.

Sorry, but I had to tell somebody. No need to comment, just had to get it

Oh dear, I'm so very sorry. DD had her car totaled by a drunk driver a
couple years ago. But she was lucky that it was a slow moving accident and
she suffered few injuries. Some back pain, but that seems to have
waned....(it was replaced by her broken leg a year later.)
I hope you are on the road to recovery soon. Take small steps but keep
moving toward health. I hope your therapy starts working wonders for you.
It's a long haul. Be strong.

suffer in silence!! You deserve BETTER!!)

Good Lord, woman! You've been through so much and you haven't said a single
thing!!! How many times have you offered kind words and prayers to others
(remember, the archives will tell!!)? LOTS!!! Don't you deserve the same in
return?! Yes!!

I'm sending prayers, healing thoughts, kind vibes, and good karma your way,
Sweetie!! If you EVER need to talk, please don't ever hesitate to holler!!
We're ALWAYS here for you!!!

And if you need a like mind to talk to about dealing with depression, holler
at me ... I've gone through bouts of it over health issues I have and I can
relate. It DOES get better ... it doesn't seem like it, but it DOES. It
seems to be a "cyclic" thing ... bad one day, better the next, then bad
again ... but it does eventually get better. And knowing what to do about
it can help you, lots.

For one thing, please make sure that your family knows what you're going
through. They can't help if they don't know! And your family loves YOU!!!

Huge hugs to you and a lot of empathy. You are enduring something very
hard. It's ok to cry and do just a little wallowing. Time will help --
but more that just 3 months. And therapy will help. I will wrap you in
my care and pray that you get back to sewing soon. That is the best
therapy and will help ease the pain in your body as you feed your
soul.

Sending Hugs and healing prayers your way. Sounds like you've been in a lot
of pain - hope you're better soon and that the doctors can find a better
cure than pills! Not to mention pain, it's also a PITA not to be able to

Aw for crying out loud! Those terrible injuries and all they're doing for
you is pills and therapy? Methinks that in the state of Florida where some
of the best doctors in the world are, you might consider getting better
help. Perhaps you need a different doctor or a referral to a teaching
hospital. Something.
We do great pity parties here for trivia like cranky SMs and leaky
faucets but this is much too serious for that. Dear friend, it is time to

I'm so sorry you're in such pain. I can truly empathize with you. I have
degenerative disk disease and have suffered for years with herniated disks,
nerve pain, and neck pain. My MRI's of my back and neck look like a train
wreck. I was offered surgery 10 years ago to repair the herniated disks but
was too scared to let anyone work on my spine. So I've dealt with the pain
all these years. Finally, last year I decided it was no way to live and
began seeing a series of doctors, a spine surgeon, a neurologist, and a pain
management specialist. They all communicate with each other and have been
wonderful to me. I had surgery on my neck to remove vertebrae that were
pinching my spinal cord, they replaced the bone with a new bone graft and
little metal plates. I now see the pain management specialist about every 6
months and receive injections into my spine which relieve the pain and allow
me to live a more normal life. I was scared of the injections, but, I get
an IV which relaxes me and makes the injections painless. I should have
done this years ago.
Anyway, just to say there are good doctors out there and treatments which
can help. I hope you are healing and feeling a little better each day.
