How will this end?
Just popping in after midnight;
The last two days I have done what my daughter told me: Mum, you need a pair of slippers, why not make something for yourself? Well, I have some thin 100% lamb's wool (not superwash), which I think I never would have used for other projects, I used four treads as one, and knitted a huge pair of slippers/ clogs. I had no pattern, so I wonder what they will look like! I said to DH (who didn't know they should be felted): -They are a BIT big, aren't they???(I guess nr. 46-48 at least!!) He looked at me, as I "shuffeled along" trying not to loose them: - May be they would be better for me? Oh no! They are mine IF I can get them down to right size!LOL! Now they are like this (bad quality cell phone photo): http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/...36813328brriEl I'll show you the result, good or bad! ;-)) Good night to you all! AUD |

AUD Aud--those are very cute! I love the colors too, and I can see why your husband might want them--colors men can live with. It is fun to knit without a pattern and see what comes out. Aud, I looked at a few of the other items you've made. I really like that
blue shawl. It looks warm enough on a cool evening, but lacey and dainty enough to be sweetly feminine. I tried to write that as a comment, but I've never been able to figure out how. This new thing on Webshots has confused me from the first day I got lost on it. I wonder, do they make a GPS to get around a website? I need one! I think I could make a shawl, if I got just the right pattern. Very encouraging! René "Madelaine" wrote in message ... Reneé, I agree about the "new" Webshots!!!
Thank you for your nice words! The shawl is the Candleflame shawl, they use a thicker yarn, I used a mohair yarn (plain mohair wool). My MIL got it for Christmas, and love it, because it is warm and lightweighted. (....and the colour is very nice to her eyes, I'm sure she has been told that too, and that helps a lot! LOL!) It is not difficult to knit, when you have got the "sense of the pattern"! I think it always takes a little while with a new pattern. Here it is: http://web.archive.org/web/200206240...com/CANDLE.HTM Good luck! Aud ;-) |
