Default soapstone

I wonder if there is anyone who can tell me:
Is soapstone the same material as block talc?
If so, where in the U.K., can I get some three-inch cube, or thereabouts,
pieces of it?
Is it expensive?
I have read somewhere that it can be used as a very stable, low-loss
insulator. I cannot remember whether it was used in its native condition or
after being stoved.
Has anyone here tried it?

Please let me know what you think - G.H.Ireland.

Theres a link here http://aboutstone.org/conversa/arc002/msg00025.html
one in Northants and another in Wilts.
I've seen them sold as stone lanterns for night-lights. The above 2 supply
sculpturers, so shouldn't be too expensive.
Don't know whether it has to be treated first.
