Default pictorial embroidery

A friend just told me that she used to do something years ago called
pictorial embroidery. Is anyone familiar with this and do you know of any
sources for patterns? Thanks!

Don't know if this will help much. I did a quick search on Google.
Hmong have what they call "pictorial embroidery" or stories in
embroidery. Their server is down at the moment. Further down the list
was another site about pictorial embroidery of 1798-1828, and the
techniques. Romanesque "pictorial embroidery", and even pictorial
machine embroidery. It appears to be another name for "needle painting"

Hope this gets you on your way. Just go to Google and type in:
pictorial embroidery for a long list.

Dianne
