Remember our consternation (nay, outrage!) when Northern began the
"quilted" campaign? Those old ladies were using knitting needles to
quilt.

A decade later knitting is all the rage....hmmm, the idea of knitted
toilet paper?

This article mentiones the "quilted" ads, specifically says they
showed women with "quilting needles", and adds that the ads were
"well-received". Clearly nobody at that company paid the least bit of
attention to us!

I remember it well, Nann! This group (and others) sent a flood of
letters and emails, resulting in the ladies in the ad losing their
knitting needles and gaining (large) quilting needles. G
