Default Free Quilt Show!

Hey, I found an on-line quilt show...so we can all go! It's at Quilt
University.

Go to http://www.quiltuniversity.com

On the home page there's a link to their Virtual Quilt show. Lots of
pretty quilts and you get to vote for your favorite. Show closes May
16th.

Enjoy!

There's at least one name there that seems vaguely familiar. Maureen??
Cool site!

Lots of beautiful quilts there! And that includes a very nice one our
own Maureen Wozniak made! Good for you, Maureen!

What a great show! And, congratulations, Maureen!

Can anyone comment about Quilt University? How does it work and was it a
good way to learn?

I've taken several courses at QU. Most were well worth it. The machine
quilting course that I took was difficult for me, because we couldn't really
discuss technique in a way that helped me. I'm a very visual learner, so
reading about how someone MQs isn't as helpful as watching someone do it.
The course also couldn't seem to decide if it was about technique or design,
and didn't focus enough on either.

However, the 3 or 4 other classes I've taken there were great! I can learn
at my own pace, looking at the lessons at a time that suits my chaotic
schedule. There is an online discussion forum for each class, where you can
post questions and the teacher and other students answer. There is a gallery
where you can post pictures of your work in progress, and see what others
have done. I think it is well worth the small class fees.

I really want to take the one on finishing options, but each time it has
been offered, I've been too swamped with in-progress stuff, with nothing
near to being finished, and no time to whip up some samples. I'm sure the
planets will align soon, tho, and it will work out. :-)

There's a link at the site where you can take a free lesson,
you will need to sign up and they will send you the password.
No strings attached as far as I can tell - you can opt out of
any newsletters.
